Oracle XML Technology CenterWebsite URL: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/xml/index.html This site is a useful resource for those developers who have to interface their code with Oracle databases in various applications. The site may not be a very good resource for absolute beginners, who are better advised to visit the website W3CS School, though the site claims that it does have resources for the beginner. The site is an excellent resource for white papers and technical articles and lists these documents for reading and downloads. Some of the popular articles which listed at the website are titled “ODP.NET What You Need to Know About Whitespace in XML”, “Building with Oracle XML Database”,” XML Schema: Understanding Structures”, “Using XML with XML DB” and “Validating XML Documents Against XML Schema”. These are just a few to name, more resourceful articles are available on the website at Oracle Technology. Oracle Corporation has also developed a whole slew of XML components and applications that are XML based. They are generally meant for use within the Oracle product range. Typically one can find more information and documents about the Oracle Berkeley DB XML, Oracle JDeveloper, Oracle Database, Oracle Application Server, Oracle XML DB, Oracle XML Developer’s Kit (XDK) and Oracle XML Publisher. The listed applications/components are also available for download on the Oracle Technology website. There are excellent samples available on the site that illustrates the use of XML along with Oracle. A list of sample code can be viewed at Oracle Sample Code and Oracle sample code XMLDB. Each of these pages provides links to a better range of sample codes. Other than the sample code there are also links to various tutorials, which include Understanding Oracle XML DB, Oracle XML Parser Techniques, J2EE Virtual Shopping Mall and Oracle By Example Series. Regular visits to the Oracle XML website will keep you updated with the latest trends and offering for XML applications and components. Though it will be with a bias that will always be skewed towards Oracle Applications that are used in XML. It is an absolutely excellent site for those working with XML and Oracle on a day-to-day basis. |
